Western Europe Gas Supply (LNG) – MilfordHaven

Europe’s largest consumer of natural gas, Germany, aims at joining global LNG markets with its first LNG Terminal (GLT) in 2022. With a planned import capacity of 8 bcm/a, the Brunsbüttel terminal adds strong import flexibility and diversity to the German gas supply mix.

The terminal, however, might be utilized differently than importing LNG. RWE, which reserved a large chunk of GLT’s import capacities, and Australian infrastructure developer H2U are evaluating the option of importing hydrogen via this terminal.

The largest terminal in our post, South Hook LNG Terminal (send-out capacity 21 bcm/a), played a major role in the massive price spike in 2018. Besides the Beast from the East hitting Europe, the UK terminal was one of several assets facing an unplanned outage.

Please clear the stage for terminals from UK, Belgium, Poland, and Germany.
