European Power Spot Exchanges (Part 6)

Update 21.03.2022

Today we present our next guest in the Series of European Power Exchanges:

The Hungarian Exchange @HUPX! A lot has happened since the last time we have shared our factsheet:

In June the Go-live of the 4M Marcet Coupling was successfully conducted and Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania have now coupled markets.

In addition, trade volumes have increased, from a slight rise in the day-ahead volumes to almost 100% increase in intraday volumes!

And there is more to come in 2022:

📢 The go-live of the Core flow-based project is planned, including the Croatian-Hungarian border in SDAC.

📢 The Slovenian – Hungarian interconnector is becoming operational

📢 The Slovakian and Greek borders will join the SIDC

Stay tuned for the next factsheet in our series!

Our next guest is HUPX the Hungarian Power Exchange.

Since the exchange has joined the Single-Intraday Coupling (SIDC) in November 2019, the volumes have been increasing constantly. The intraday volumes have been rising by more than factor 7 from 2019 to 2020 and still following that path.
